Roseland Public School in south Windsor is getting some financial help from the Ontario government.
As part of a $255-million announcement for new projects, additions and renovations across the province, Roseland will receive close to $4-million.
Greater Essex County District School Board Chair Kim McKinley says the repairs will be done to the oldest part of the school. "We like all of our schools to be great for our students. So, clearly, this is one of those times where we definitely had to do these renovations. They weren't optional. So it's great that we'll be able to get that money from the ministry (Ministry of Education) and not take it from our capital budget."
"Any funding is welcome," says McKinley. "That's why it's really good news because it's additional money that's not tapping into the money we want to spend at our other schools as well. There's never enough of that capital money to touch all of the stuff that all of our schools need, but any little bit helps."
The funding will be used for structural needs, such as making the offices and entrances more accessible.
