Final submissions are underway at the trial of a Windsor psychiatrist accused of sexual assault and extortion.
Dr. Ravi Shenava, 66, is accused by a woman he was treating of forcing her to have sex.
Under a publication ban the woman can't be identified.
The complainant told court Dr. Shenava would not sign an order for her to recieve disability payments until she had sex with him.
Defence counsel portrayed the accuser as a career criminal who had stolen hundreds of cars, trafficked in drugs and lied under oath in court previously. David Humphrey suggested to Justice Renee Pomerance that the testimony of the complainant could not be relied on.
He detailed how the accuser had colluded with another person to create evidence that was proven in court to have been faked.
The Crown is now making final submission to the court.
