Crews are not wasting time in tearing down the 25-metre pool in the main bowl of the WFCU Centre.
Speaking on AM800's the Morning Drive, Project Manager Don Sadler hopes to have the water pumped out by noon on Monday.
Crews will then need to remove the deck, the coverings, plywood, pool and granular base.
He says the snow did slow them down a bit in loading up trucks.
Sadler says the facility should start looking like a hockey arena soon.
"Tearing it down is somewhat easier. It certainly goes faster because there is less attention to detail. We expect to be standing new boards for the facility this Saturday," said Sadler.
"The opportunity for this build is something I would never have dreamed of in my career and it certainly has been enjoyable that's for sure."
The new hockey boards will be installed because the city is hosting the Memorial Cup in 2017.
Assuming the Windsor Spitfires go far in the playoffs, Sadler says there may not have been time to install new boards so the city is taking the opportunity to do it now.

Meanwhile, Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens says the response to the event has been overwhelmingly positive.
"Every single person I spoke with who was at the event or saw me at Costco all said this is so great for the city, not one person complained about the event," says Dilkens.
During Sunday's closing ceremonies, Dilkens says Olympians Penny Oleksiak and Kylie Masse were greeting fans in the crowd and signing autographs.
He said the event is about community pride.
