An idea inspired by Mason Macri, has led to a partnership between the Fight Like Mason Foundation and the Erie St. Clair Local Health Integration Network. (LHIN)
The foundation has presented 20 "superhero" IV poles to the LHIN for kids receiving care in the community to use.
Standard medical poles are modified by Klassen Custom Fab and SES Powder Coating with toppers that have Batman, Spiderman, Cupcake and other logos.
Mason's dad, Iain Macri, says they wanted to make at least some of the medical equipment cheer up the kids in treatment.

"Why can't the IV pole look like Batman? Why can't it look like a princess crown? Why can't it be an inviting thing in their home rather than the same cold steel of a hospital" said Macri.
Mason's mom, Chantelle Bacon, says she came up with the idea.
"Mason was actually very afraid of the medical equipment coming to his home since he was like you told me I wasn't going to go to the hospital anymore." said Bacon, "So I decided we need to do something better and it took about a year for everything to come together and we're so excited for it to be finally ready and kids are going to get them"
LHIN CEO Ralph Ganter is thrilled with the idea and hopes more can be made available throughout the region from Grand Bend to Amherstburg.
Each of the poles costs $1,000 and the first 20 are being donated by the Fight Like Mason Foundation.
4-year-old Mason lost his battle with a rare cancer in June 2016 after inspiring thousands of people with his brave fight.
