Former Tiger Mike Fiers throws his second career nohitter in the As victory against Cincinnati

Mike Fiers tossed 131 pitches and the second MLB no-hitter of his career to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

It is the first no-hitter of the season and 300th in Major League history.

Jurickson Profar was responsible for both RBI for Oakland with a double and a home run.

The Athletics stopped a two-game slide and a stretch where they had lost eight out of nine.

The only Cincinnati batters to reach base were Eugenio Suarez and Yasiel Puig, who both reached base via a walk.

Jesse Winker reached after an error for the Reds.  Cincinnati has lost four of its last six.

Fiers former team, the Detroit Tigers, fell 5-2 to the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.
