There is just one more day until the first leg of horse racing's Triple Crown. The 143rd Kentucky Derby will be run tomorrow at historic Churchill Downs.
Classic Empire is the morning-line favorite in the 20-horse field at 4-to-1. The colt will break from post-position 14. Always Dreaming and McCraken are next at 5-to-1, with Irish War Cry at 6-to-1. The rest of the entries are all double-digit odds, with Fast and Accurate and Sonneteer the long shots at 50-to-1.
There is a Windsor connection as Paul Reddam is the owner of Irap who is listed at 20-1 and is ridden by Mario Guiterrez.
The Derby will be followed by the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Racecourse on Saturday, May 20th and the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park on Saturday, June 10th.
