There's been a slight drop in the number of people killed on Ontario highways .
Provincial Police report 296 fatal collisions in 2018 in which 333 people lost their lives which represents a drop of about 3% from 2017.
Police say there were 7674 collisions in 2018 involving transport trucks - a 4-year high. 55 of those crashes were fatal.
Transport drivers were found to be at fault in over half of those incidents with improper lane changes and following too closely the top contributing factors.
Overall, the OPP reports that inattentive driving has been the biggest decrease in fatalities over the past year, from 82 in 2017 to 55 in the 2018, down 33%
