FCA Canada is hiring at the Windsor Assembly Plant.
Unifor Local 444 President Dino Chiodo says about 100 jobs need to be filled, many of them to replace workers who are retiring.
But he points out people can't apply for the jobs as the company will be hiring workers who are already in the system.
"These are individuals who have already applied, they are already in the system and they probably already gone through the screening process."
Chiodo says this is about maintaining productivity.
"Fiat Chrysler Automobiles needs to make sure they have enough operators to run the facility and that being said, we have people who are retiring every month, we have people that they need to be replaced on operations and that being said they are going to be hiring people."
Chiodo says it is another boost to the economy as the company has already hired 1,600 people and continues to hire as people retire.
Even though the jobs may not be "new" jobs, he says it means more people will have access to an income.
