Two people are dead after a fiery crash in Leamington.
OPP report police along with fire crews and paramedics attended the scene of a crash in the 1100-block of Mersea Rd. 5 in Leamington — east of Hwy. 77, near Mersea Rd. 12 — at about 12:15am today.
Police report a vehicle hit a cement barrier and ruptured a large carbon dioxide tank on a greenhouse property, leading to a fiery explosion. Both people in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The CO2 leak has been contained and there is no threat to public safety as a result of the crash.
Mersea Rd. 5 was closed for about 6 hours as crews cleaned up and investigators picked through the scene. The roadway has since re-opened.
The names of those killed in the crash haven't been released as next of kin are being notified.
