The second installment of Fantastic Fathers took over the WFCU Centre this weekend.
The free Father's Day event is organized by LiUNA Local 625 and the Fantastic Fathers Community group was a hit with food and giveaways on tap.
Cooordinator Steve Brown says the event exceeded his wildest expectations last year. This year was no exception.
He says last year they figured they'd get less than 1,000 people — they ended up with close to 2,000.
With a larger venue, Brown estimates they hit closer to 4,000 over the weekend.
"We were at the local 195 union hall, we did get around 1,500 to 2,000 people last year, but we definitely doubled our numbers if not more this time around," says Brown.
He says the attractions were key — everybody had something to do with their dad.
"We planed everything basically from age 2 up to probable 14 years old with all the different stuff we had," says Brown. "We had a wide variety of bouncy castles, obstacle courses and then right through to the boarder city brawler derby girls and Boarder City Wrestling, which drew fans of all ages."
Fantastic Fathers holds many fundraiser's throughout the year to make sure this event will continue into the future.
