There will soon be one less video store in the area.
Family Video on Lesperance Rd in Tecumseh is closing its doors.
Manager Rachel Correia says it was a decision made between the landlord and the company's home office as the lease was not renewed.
The store stopped renting movies and games last weekend and will shut the doors this coming Saturday, January 21.
"Super disappointing," says Correia. "I have the best job in the world I give people entertainment and not everyone comes in in a great mood, some people are sick and I get to cheer them up and it is sad."
She believes there is still a market for video stores.
"I can tell Netflix has impacted our business but there is a lot of people who don't want to stream or who don't have the internet and a lot of older people that it is too much hassle to learn that kind of stuff and that's why I was happy we were here to help those customers."
Fixtures from the store are currently on sale.
Correia says two employees are getting jobs at the Tecumseh Rd/Hall location.
