Design plans for Lakeshore's proposed $1.2-million jetty have been unveiled.
On Thursday, a public open house was held for the 150 metre long structure.
Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Nelson Cavacas says for the most part residents were pleased with the design and gave positive feedback.
"I think the consensus is generally positive. There's some mixed ideas on the shade, but I think more leaning towards having more shade."
He says tenders will be issued soon.
"When we get the pricing we're able to make some final decisions to try and keep the project within budget and we're confident the pricing estimates that we got are good that we'll be able to complete the project on budget."
The jetty will be three metres wide.
Construction is expected to start after Labour Day with a goal of having the project completed by the end of the year.
