Brace yourself for a nasty Ontario election campaign.
University of Windsor Political Science Professor Lydia Miljan says the early indication is this will be personal.
Both the Conservative and Liberal leader have directed salvos directly at their opposite number.
Miljan told AM800 listeners on the Lynn Martin Show that the polls show the PC's in a significant lead with a 90% likelihood of a majority.
She says those numbers mean discussion of policy will fall by the wayside.
"The gloves are going to be off before the game even starts and they're just going to start fighting" believes Miljan. "This is going to be messy. And the fact the Liberals announced they're spending a million dollars pre-writ on Doug Ford attack ads, basically says that they're going to follow through with that"
Miljan says Premier Kathleen Wynne has shown her strategy.
"We're not going to talk about the deficit or the debt or any substantive issue, we saw from what Kathleen Wynne released yesterday is that she's basically pointing Doug Ford as Donald Trump. So in a sense she's saying I don't really care who the conservative leader is, I'm going to say it's Donald Trump because I know everybody hates Donald Trump in Ontario"
She says PC Leader Doug Ford got off the first shot.

"He effectively said she's got a lot to answer for and given the fact that political aides of the Liberal party are now serving jail time because of the actions regarding the gas plants scandal he's suggesting she sort of has her fingers on that, so that's where we're at"
Miljan says Ontarians should expect more of the same.
She points out if attack ads didn't work no one would use them.
Election day is June 7th.
