Brendan Soto and Eric Larue scored third period goals, but the Canadiens comeback effort just fell short.
Lakeshore out shot the hometown Hawks 16-2 in the third period, and 40-24 overall.
Erik Morneau made 21 saves in taking the loss in goal for the Canadiens.
Game 5 goes Friday night at the Atlas Tube Centre with the series tied 2-2.
