A man from Rodney is being held in custody pending a bail hearing

A 41-year old man has been arrested and charged after a hit and run in Ridgetown.

According to Chatham-Kent police, an arguement broke out between a man and his ex-girlfriend Thrusday morning and as he left, she followed him outside in an effort to return some of his belongings. 

In the parking lot while walking away, police say the man hit the woman with his car then sped away from the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the suspect was arrested — he is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and assault with a weapon.
