Bundle up.
The advice from the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
With wind chill values expected to drop to -25 C this week with the wind chill, the local health unit is reminding residents everyone is at risk when it comes to the bitter cold.
People are urged to keep an eye on local weather forecasts and if you are heading outside to dress warm and cover as much skin as possible.
You can drink warm fluids as well, but avoid alcohol as it may give you a false sense of warmth.
Health officials are also reminding you to check on your home's heating system and to keep your vehicle equipped with an emergency kit with a blanket incase you become stranded.
And most importantly, if you think yourself or someone else is experiencing hypothermia, call 911 immediately.
Winter weather can change suddenly, so prepare yourself and your vehicle for snow covered and slippery roads. Have your emergency kit on hand in case of a cold weather emergency, #WinterDriving https://t.co/YDKLSlV6Tp
