A Friday night event in Amherstburg is looking to help out a family hit hard by the loss of a father and husband.
30-year-old Adam Pouget was killed on November 17 after being hit by a car on his walk to work on County Rd. 18 on a foggy morning in Amherstburg.
He left behind his wife Ashley Dupuis and four children, including his newborn son.
The event -- dubbed "Adam's Eve" and presented by LiUNA 625 -- was in part coordinated by Tea Party drummer and local community activist Jeff Burrows.
Burrows says the family's story spurred him and his friends to action.
"It's just something that struck me really hard, I guess being a father. I couldn't imagine something like that happening to myself with leaving my wife and children behind," says Burrows. "So we decided to do something about it. Whatever we could to help."
Burrows says the community has stepped up in lending a hand to help out Adam's family.
He says there's a Go-Fund-Me campaign that's aiming to reach $40,000 for the family.
The event is set to run from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at Amherstburg's Libro Centre.
Tickets are $10 at the door which gives you acces to a live performance from local rock star Jody Raffoul, a silent auction as well as food and drink.
