The countdown is on to election day in Essex.
A Ward 3 by-election is set for October 23 and final preparations are being made for the big day.
This Wednesday, election officials will be trained to man the two locations on voting day — there are nine polls across the Harrow Agricultural Hall and the Colchester Community Centre.
Residents who haven't received their voter ID card can contact the Clerk's Office or town staff at Harrow Arena to register. Voter registration will still be available on election day if needed.
Manager of Legislatives Services and Clerk, Robert Auger, is encouraging everyone in the ward to exercise their right to vote.
"Whoever the residents of Ward 3 elect will be on this current council for another year and possibly into the future so, it's an important enough by-election for sure," says Auger.

Auger hopes to see a strong turnout after a promising numbers from early voting held on October 14.
"It was interesting, from everything I've heard we had a better than expected turnout at the advanced poll, so maybe that will bode well for election day."
Auger expects the results will known quickly after voting ends on Monday.
"We're using traditional ballots, but with electronic tabulator machines," says Auger. "From what I'm told, the system's been used out in the Town of Amherstburg for the last couple of municipal elections — very quick."
Voting runs from 10am to 8pm on October 23.
The by-election is being held to replace Bill Caixeiro, who suddenly resigned this past summer.
Ron Rogers, Mike Jenner, Richard Kokovai and Rodney Hammond are running for the seat.
