In the Provincial Junior Hockey League, the Essex 73's are home to the Wallaceburg Lakers Tuesday night.
The 73's are coming off a loss in Amherstburg on Sunday but have won four of their last six games.
Even though Wallaceburg doesn't have a win on the season, Essex Coach Gil Langlois says they need to be careful because their opponent is playing desperate hockey.
"They are a team that works really hard, they don't have the results in the standings certainly where they want to be — but they need some road wins that's for sure so I expect it will be a spirited game, the last time we played them up in their areana it was."
While the 73's need to focus on tonight's game, Langlois says they also have to look ahead in the schedule.
"We play Dresedn, the first place team, on Friday — so our position on this is don't do things that are going ot get you suspended for Friday's game or put you in a mindset where you're not where we need to be to play Dresden on Friday, because if we don't come there ready and play the style of hockey we know we have to do, it's going to be a long night."
Essex is 10-2-0-and-3 on the season and sits second in the Stobbs Division, four points back of first-place Dresden.
The Lakers are winless in 14 games.
