A summer tradition returns to the Town of Essex this weekend.
The 30th annual Essex Fun Fest kicks off Thursday afternoon at the Essex Centre Sports Complex Fairgrounds.
Event chair Joe Garon says the four day event features rides and games, live entertainment, a beer tent, fireworks and a parade.
He says the start time for the parade is changing.
"The biggest change we have this year is our parade which is a really good parade, one of the longest ones in the county and it's 10 o'clock on Saturday morning this year verses 11 in the past years so we're going an hour earlier with the parade," says Garon.

For the second straight year, the fireworks will take place on Saturday night instead of Sunday evening.
The event also includes a classic car show and a watermelon eating contest.
