The OPP in Essex County are sounding the alarm over what it calls a "serious issue" involving Fentanyl overdoses.
So far this year, police say there have been three investigations around the lethal drug including one that resulted in the death of a 21-year-old Essex resident.
There were also two separate incidents in Leamington earlier this month where both victims survived after being revived with the use of naloxone or NARCAN, which is a life saving drug that reverses the effects of an overdose.
NARCAN was administered by EMS.
On May 9th, the OPP arrested a 38-year-old Leamington man and charged him with trafficking Fentanyl, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with probation.
On March 28th, the OPP in Tecumseh arrested and charged a man and woman with a number of offences seizing firearms and Fentanyl (Carfenanil).
Fentanyl is a highly dangerous, tasteless and odourless substance that can be fatal in very small amounts.
