Ron Rogers is asking administration to prepare a report outlining the steps that need to be taken to get Harrow a nonmedical cannabis facility

An Essex councillor wants to know what steps need to be taken for getting a non-medical marijuana facility in Harrow when cannabis becomes legal in Canada.

Ron Rogers introduced a notice of motion at the November 6th council meeting and will speak to it Monday night.

He feels Harrow is the right spot in the county to land a non-medical marijuana retail store.

Rogers says getting a store would increase tourism in the area.

"We got to bring back some more tourism through the area and make it a destination if that's going to be a destination because of a cannabis retail outlet so be it," says Rogers.

The province announced earlier this month that Windsor will be getting one of the first stores in Ontario.
