Essex town council will be discussing ward boundaries tonight.
Council will be receiving its final boundary review report from Dr. Robert J. Williams of Watson and Associates.
Mayor Ron McDermott says council will not be making a final decision tonight instead will be asking questions and will make a final decision at a special meeting next Monday. He says Williams will be presenting his final recommendations.
"We're just going to hear the report from the company that is doing this for us and we'll have a special meeting next Monday night to discuss what they're presenting tonight," says McDermott.
He says there were a number of options on the table.
"It could be three wards — it could be four wards — it could be five wards like they have a bunch of recommendations and they were to bring it back and tweak it from comments that council and taxpayers sent in to them. Two in ward one, one in ward two, one in ward four and two in ward three."
Council has already agreed to elect a deputy mayor at large.
