Snacks will again fill the stands at Harrow Arena.
Essex Town Council has unanimously approved an agreement for a new snack bar operator that includes a break on the rent.
Ward 4 Councillor Sherry Bondy has pushed for the move after the last vendor dropped out last year due to operation costs.
The new one-year deal will only cost the operator $22.60 per month and will be up for renegotiation next year.
Bondy his happy her fellow councillors see the community benefits.
"It's a small arena but we want that full service experience too. I pushed it out on social media a lot and maybe those councillors heard some of those comments and I really appreciate the support and I know the Harrow and Colchester residents will appreciate the support," she says.
Bondy wasn't sure what to expect when the item came up for discussion.
"You never count your chickens before they hatch, so I didn't know what council was going to do, but I'm really excited," she says. "People want that full service arena experience ... they want to know that there's a canteen there because parents are busy, they're throwing their kids in the car and racing out to the games."
She hopes residents show the town it made the right decision.
"Now we have to get the word out there and say 'hey, we have our canteen so you have to use it' because the people operating the canteen need to make a little money," added Bondy.
The snack bar will roll up its doors in the fall.
