The Essex Region Conservation Authority is warning of possible flooding because of the wintry weather conditions.
With the current snow, mild temperatures and rain expected overnight Tuesday, the runoff generated from thawing has the potential to cause flooding throughout the entire region.
Areas of concern include all low-lying areas, drainage catch basins and other surface water drainage inlets.
The authority says with Wednesday's expected warmer weather, ice surfaces will start to break up and flowing ice can create ice blockages at bridges and culverts resulting in flooding.
People should take extra caution to avoid area waterways as flowing water and standing water can be extremely hazardous.
ERCA's Watershed Conditions Statement is in effect until 9am Friday.
