A flood watch has been issued by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.
It says due to predicted winds out of the southwest at 30 to 40 km/hour, with potential gusts up to 70 km/hour, the possibility of shoreline erosion and flooding exists.
Waves overtopping breakwalls and resulting spray are a possibility.
The watch is in effect for the east limit of the Town of Essex, the Town of Kingsville and the western portions of Leamington west of Point Pelee National Park and west side of Pelee Island.
ERCA says people should take extra precautions and avoid shorelines areas.
The watch is in effect until Friday, May 19th at 9am.
