A flood watch has been issued by the Essex Region Conservation Authority.
According to a release, the eastern portion of Essex County is under the watch with severe weather expected to linger over Chatham-Kent Friday night.
Major tributaries are also under the watch with record high water-levels and the possibility of pop up storms that could deliver up to 55 millimetres of rain into the evening.
The watch for the eastern portion of the county will remain in effect overnight, according to ERCA.
A flood watch remains in effect until July 2 for shorelines throughout Essex County due to record high water levels in the Great Lakes.
