The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch.
High water levels and forecasted northwesterly winds to 55 km/hr this weekend have the potential to create flood conditions along the west shoreline of Pelee Island.
ERCA says portions of the shoreline were significantly damaged by storms earlier this month, and breakwalls are vulnerable to further damage.
There is the potential for near shore erosion with waves overtopping breakwalls based on the predicted winds and high lake levels.
ERCA is urging people take extra caution and avoid shoreline areas.
