The warning is in effect until Wednesday afternoon
A flood warning has now been issued by the Essex Region Conservative Authority.
The warning is for portions of the shoreline in Leamington, specifically in the Cotterie Park Rd area between Wheatley Harbour and the tip of Point Pelee.
ERCA says strong wind and raising water levels across the region may generate significant wave action.
The authority is also asking the public to take extra caution and avoid shoreline areas during wind and lake wave events.
ERCA says current and forecasted conditions may also cause flooding and erosion along the Lake Erie shoreline including Pelee Island, the Lake St. Clair shoreline and the Detroit River shoreline.
The warning is in effect until 1pm on Wednesday May 1st.
