The Essex Region Conservation Authority and its foundation are launching new identities in hopes of strengthening both organizations.
At the Devonwood Conservation Area in Windsor, they unveiled their new logos and vision of 'sustaining and enriching the place for life.'
"The place for life represents everything that we have," says ERCA General Manager Richard Wyma. "Where we work, where we live, play, join and gather. These are places that create attachment and emotion for people who go to these spaces."
The two organizations found by developing more modern similar logos, it would increase their profiles together and eliminate any confusion about what they do.
While the authority implements conservation programs and projects, the foundation raises funds to support the work.
Foundation Board of Directors President Susan Stockwell Andrews says work began on the new vision early in 2015.
The authority icon consists of three rings representing the environment, economy and community while the foundation icon has three rings representing land, water and life.
The two organizations will also work under a joint banner of the Essex Region Conservation.
The foundation will soon have accomplished 96 kilometres of trails through Windsor-Essex while the authority has planted 6.3-million trees and increased the natural areas from 3.5% to 8.5% in the past 43 years.
