Enwin Utilities is looking for some public input as it plans for the future.
It has launched a survey on its website to gage people's opinions on what is more important, stability in power or cost.
Enwin CEO Helga Reidel says the input will help create a five-year plan on investments and spending from 2019 to 2023. It could also form part of an application for a rate hike to the Ontario Energy Board.
Reidel says Windsor's economy is affected when power goes out.
"We have a very heavy manufacturing community and our consultation will go certainly beyond the residential component to those large industrial customers that require virtual perfect power," says Reidel
She adds it's important to find out what customers value.
"There are questions asking that intend to drive out the answer to what is more important, service level and reliability of our service versus the cost and this is a part of a process that could form part of a rate application that we make," says Reidel.
Enwin controls less than 20% of the hydro bill.
A rate hike application that Enwin makes to the OEB would could into effect in 2019 at the earliest.
