Now that Enwin Utilities has found a buyer for its downtown building, it's time to focus on making room at its Rhodes Dr. location.
The utility has sold its "underutilized' 40,000 sq. ft. building on Ouellette Ave. and Elliott St. to Tessonics Inc. — a local company that's looking to expand.
President and CEO Helga Riedel says it's time to get 100 employees ready to move by 2020.
"It will certainly be a challenge because we'll be renovating while we still occupy the Rhodes Dr. facility with our existing operations staff, so there's quite a bit of planning and effort that will go into making all of that work," she says. "The RFP [Request for Proposal] for architects was issue a couple of months ago, so we're about to get ready to make a selection there and then get the drawings and renovation plans underway.".
Enwin put the building up for sale back in November 2018.
