A funding boost for a local manufacturer in Windsor.
The federal government has announced an investment of $1.15-million for Ennova Facades Inc. to enhance its operations and competitiveness, and increase its production by 100 per cent.
The announcement was made in Windsor by Minister Filomena Tassi, responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, along with Windsor-Tecumseh MP Irek Kusmierczyk.
Ennova is a family-owned manufacturer of custom-made exterior building projects, including walls, windows, solar shades and more.
The company also offers solutions for large projects in Canada and the U.S., like airports, hospitals, and other buildings.
According to a release, the investment will support Ennova to add equipment at its Windsor and Amherstburg facilities to increase efficiencies and enhance its local capacity to meet growing demand for their products.
Tassi says Ennova is demonstrating the strength of made-in-Canada products while boosting its competitiveness and production.
"I'm so pleased to hear that through this project Ennova will now be able to produce its cut metal sheets in house, right here in Windsor, something that they were not able to do prior to this with this investment and with the equipment that's going to come<" says Tassi. "The exponential economic growth is brilliant."
She says investments like this don't just happen, it takes passion, dedication and commitment which Ennova has shown.
"That's exactly what our government wants to seize on," she says. "The meticulous nature of the work you do is very clear in this space and that of course is going to lead to success. Always striving to do better, make a better product, a more environmentally friendly product, and you see that here every step of the way."
Ennova president Michal Chlumecky says this is exactly what they need to advance their production capabilities to align with their design and development of new products.
"We've been actively promoting new products and developing new advanced products, and our manufacturing capabilities need to keep up pace with the new product solutions," says Chlumecky. "This investment gives us the bandwidth to be able to commit to some production equipment that we desperately need to be able to advance our manufacturing capabilities."
13 additional jobs will be created at Ennova thanks to the funding announcement.
Additionally, thanks to the investment Ennova will be able to reduce lead times and diversify its clientele, especially in the affordable housing market as developers continue to pursue more cost-efficient building solutions.
