A fullscale medical response operation at the international crossing will begin early Sunday morning
If travellers see emergency services descending upon the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Sunday — don't panic — it's just a drill.
Sunday will see a joint exercise between the Detroit Fire and Police Departments, the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel Authority, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Canada Border Services Agency.
A full-scale drill will test a medical response operation at the international crossing from 8am to 10:30am.
The tunnel will remain open to traffic during the exercise.
