Bon Appetit.
Some Leamington elementary school students are going to be well fed today.
St. Michel is holding its third annual Turkey lunch. The school will serve up 32 turkeys, 50 kilos of corn, 250 lbs potatoes, 85 dozen buns, juice from McDonalds and 1,200 pieces of dessert. All of it's been donated.
More than 650 students, staff and volunteers will be fed in two rounds in the school's gymnasium to help them get into the Christmas spirit.
Christine Bedard is with the school's parent council. She says the lunch is made possible through lots of donations.
"All the parents and staff donate actually raw products, the frozen turkeys, corn, potatoes donated by a local farmer, all the raw vegetables by one of the local produce companies out here," says Bedard.
The meal is served buffet style. Bedards admits it's a lot of work but it's all worth it in the end.
