The Education Critic for the NDP is slamming the province for the failed rollout of the Grade 10 Literacy Test.
Close to 200,000 students across Ontario were unable to log in to take the digital, online test.
Windsor West MPP Lisa Gretzky says it's not OK for the Education Minister to simply fluff off the crash of the system.
She says this is one more in a litany of technology screw-ups by the Liberals. It happened with the rollout of the SAMS system for social assistance and with e-Health.
Gretzky says it cost students and teachers a lot of wasted time because she's heard from across the province that students were sent home and that's a waste.
She says the government has to come clean on what the cost of this failure has been: "some schools had to go out to buy new computers to be able to run the program and then again to fix the program and try it again next year. I have no doubt this is going to be a great cost to an education system that's already underfunded and struggling"
Gretzky pledges to press the Liberals for answers about the failure of the EQAO testing system.
