An east Windsor elementary school is in mourning.
Students at Eastwood Public School on Forest Glade Dr. are remembering 13-year-old Kaleb Houle.
Houle died over the weekend after a battle with cancer.
Greater Essex County District School Board Spokesperson Scott Scantlebury says social work staff were at the school on Monday.
He says psychological services personnel were also available if needed.
Scantlebury says he spoke to the school's principal Monday morning.
"They're just hoping to make sure that everybody's needs are looked after and that anyone who has any outstanding needs that they're taken care of as well," says Scantlebury.
Scantlebury adds Houle's classmates are honouring his memory and celebrating his life.
"His close friends are talking about their experiences with him and they're sharing videos and they're talking very open and I think that's probably the best way to deal with these tragic circumstances," says Scantlebury.
Houle was first diagnosed with stage four non-Hodgkin's lymphoma back in 2014 — the cancer returned for the third time in February of this year.
The community rallied around the 13-year-old, holding a fundraiser to help the family pay for treatments and other expenses back last April.
