The City of Windsor is partnering with Caesars Windsor and Enwin Utilities to put on their first Earth Hour event.
The celebrations get started at 8pm on Saturday at Charles Clark Square before the lights go out from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.
Averil Parent is the Environment and Sustainability Coordinator for the city.
She says there will be unplugged entertainment during Earth Hour.
"The Bloomfield House is going to be doing a drum circle as well as a poetry reading, we're also going to have St. Mary's Church youth choir, the stilt guys are going to be out walking around entertaining the crowd and there's going to be a dance performance."
Parent says Earth Hour reminds people of the importance of conservation, but also gives them a chance to do something different.
"It's also a way that you can just gather with friends and family and play some games or something that doesn't require electricity for an hour."
Earth Hour was started by the World Wildlife Fund 10 years ago and is observed across the globe.
