Essex County OPP are warning drivers to be on the look out for deer.
Since November 1st, provincial police have investigated 19 collisions involving deer.
Luckily, no one was injured.
Police are offering a number of tips and reminders to drivers to avoid a crash involving a deer.
- Be alert especially between sunset to midnight and during the hours before and after sunrise as those are 'high risk times' for deer-vehicle collisions.
- Keep your eyes on the road and the side of the road at night to watch for the eyes of deer illuminated by your vehicles headlights.
- Remember if you see one deer, others are likely nearby.
- Police also recommend you brake firmly when you notice a deer in or near your path, but stay in your lane. Don't veer for deer.
