Essex OPP have charged a driver involved in a multi-vehicle crash that temporarily shut down Highway 3 last April.
On April 27th at approximately 2:30 pm on Highway 3 in Essex, a GMC pick up truck hauling a utility trailer struck the rear of another vehicle.
Police say the collision set off a chain reaction resulting in several cars crashing and two head on collisions into the eastbound lanes.
As a result of the crash 67-year-old Diana PEPPER, of Leamington who was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved died at the scene.
In addition, six people in total were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
30-year-old Decio Marques, from Kingsville, Ontario was the driver of the GMC pickup truck and has been charged with Careless Driving, under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
