More than four-dozen charges were laid during a traffic blitz by Windsor Police and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
Officers checked 26 transport trucks on Saturday, March 3 and laid a total of 57 charges.
Windsor Police Sergeant Steve Betteridge says charges range from safety issues to distracted driving and failing to move over for an emergency vehicle.
"One of the vehicles that they encountered on this blitz had a wheel where only four of the 10 fasteners were still present on the wheel at the time of the stop," says Betteridge.
The blitz encompassed two safety aspects. "Safety can be how we are driving and driver action and safety can be the vehicles that we are driving and making sure that they are up to code and meeting all of the safety requirements," Betteridge adds.
Depending on the infraction, the trucking company or the driver could be charged.
