Another month and another drop in Windsor's jobless rate.
It is down to 5.3 percent in October, down from 5.7 per cent in September.
Five other cities in Canada have a lower unemployment rate.
Mayor Drew Dilkens credits manufacturing for the downward trend.
"I think when you look at the decrease in the unemployment rate especially in Windsor, it is proof positive that manufacturing is important, that car building is important and what you are seeing here is a reflection of the strength of the auto industry," says Dilkens.
The city with the highest unemployment rate is Calgary at 10.2 percent.
Across the country, the jobless rate is steady at 7.0 percent. StatsCan says the economy gained 44, 000 new net jobs in October but the increase was entirely due to part-time employment.
