The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association has launched downtown Windsor gift cards.
Cards can be redeemed at more than 60 merchants downtown ranging from retailers, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and gyms.
"It doesn't cost the merchants anything, we have signed up more than 60 merchants and we hope to hit the 100 mark soon," says DWBIA Chair, Larry Horwitz.
"You have so many varied shops to choose from, I don't think anywhere, if you go to a mall or go anywhere else has these types of shops to choose from, you can start out getting your hair done, nails and lashes and top it off with some lunch," he says.
According to Horwitz, the goal of the cards is also to raise awareness of some of the merchants downtown.
"We thought it would be a phenominal way to acquint people with the many of the varied shops we have in the core area, we have comic book stores, we have all types of things you don't see in a typical mall setting."
The shops can be picked up at the association office at 419 Pelissier St. or online.
