The councillor for downtown Windsor wants to make sure his constituents are heard when it comes to the location of a new central library branch.
It was decided back in June that the new City Hall would be the temporary location for the library, while a new site is chosen.
After about a year of work, a local consultant has chosen the Jackson Park area and the cultural hub area, near the aquatic centre and art gallery as the two top choices.
Residents are now being asked to log online to vote in a one question survey to help make the decision.
Ward 3 Councillor, Rino Bortolin says he wants a postal code field to be added to the survey.
"We want to make sure that as many respondents as we get, that we're still hearing from the downtown core and downtown residents — because as much as this is a central library that is system wide and for everybody in the city, it still is a neighbourhood library for a lot of people in the downtown core."

Bortolin says votes from people who went online prior to the postal code field being added, will still be counted.
"It's not that these postal codes will disqualify people, or we won't take them — we just want to see what the data is so when it's brought back to the board, if it's heavily weighted to people far outside of the core, I would have concern with that."
City Hall is expected to be the temporary home for the central branch for upwards of five years.
