A downtown Windsor parking garage operator disagrees with the city.
Dan Hudson is General Manager of ComPark Complete Parking Services and says there is more than enough parking in the downtown core.
He operators a parking garage in the 200 block Pitt Street West along with a number nearby parking lots.
Hudson feels the city will be wasting taxpayers money if it converts the commercial space of the Pelissier Street Parking Garage to parking.
"I do take care of the parking garage downtown and we also have several several surface parking lots for these people," says Hudson. "We can accommodate them no problem."
Hudson says he has heard comments from the mayor along with other city reps saying there is a waiting list for parking spots at the Pelissier Street garage.
He doesn't believe that and feels if there was a waiting list, those looking for spots would look at other parking opportunities including his locations.
The fate of the Pelissier Street parking garage will be decided on August 8th.
