Downtown businesses are benefiting from the 12th annual Windsor International Film Festival.
A number of businesses say they have seen an increase so far this week and are expecting a busy weekend thanks to the film festival.
Imad Najjar is owner of Mazaar Lebanese Cuisine on Ouellette Avenue near Park.
He feels all businesses in the core look forward to the film festival.
"The nature of the crowd, we get all different kinds. They're not specifically bar-goers only, they could be families, they could be single friends. It could be anything, they're just people that appreciate movies and films of all ages."
Matt Komsa is owner of a number of businesses in the core including The City Grill and The Soup Market.
He says the past few days have been busy but fun.
"It's such a great event and everyday it draws people to the core and it just makes downtown vibrant and alive," says Komsa. "We've seen a steady increase at the Soup Market for lunch during the last couple of days of film fest and definitely the business at the City Grill has been booming since the film fest started."
More than 90 films are being shown before the film festival wraps up Sunday.
