'Tis the season to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Daylight savings begins at 2am on Sunday and local fire departments are reminding residents it's a good time to replace your batteries.
Deputy Fire Chief in Amherstburg, Lee Tome, calls it the "cheapest form of insurance to protect your family".
Tome says it is a good habit to get into.
"Since you are taking the time to change the time on your clock, everyone is busy and don't think of the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarms. We try to hammer this point twice a year when the clocks change."
Tome also suggests replacing you smoke and carbon monoxide alarms if they are more than 10 years old.
