The Los Angeles Dodgers have finally completed a trade to acquire Baltimore Orioles all-star shortstop Manny Machado in exchange for five prospects.
Several reports say Machado will now take over shortstop for the defending National League champions for the rest of the season before hitting free agency in the fall.
The Dodgers have been without their homegrown all-star shortstop Corey Seager for much of this season after undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow in May.
Machado led the Orioles in batting (.315), home runs (24) and RBI's (65).
