DNA has helped Windsor police arrest a suspect in a 2016 bank robbery.
On September 23, 2016, police were called for a robbery at a bank in the 2200 block of Tecumseh Rd. East near Walker Rd.
A suspect entered the bank and told the teller that he had a weapon and demanded money.
No weapon was seen.
Other bank employees noticed and the suspect fled on foot.
No one was hurt.
Investigators gathered evidence and sent it to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for analysis.
Police received information recently that a suspect had been positively identified.
On Thursday, July 12, Windsor police went to Toronto and arrested a suspect.
Alan Snowdon, 47 of Hamilton, is charged with one count of robbery.
