DNA evidence has lead to a Windsor man facing a handful of break and enter charges.
Windsor police arrested 39-year-old Gerald Lauzon after he was released from a custodial institution in Campbellford, Ontario.
Police say back in 2003 and 2004 the service investigated a number of residential break and enters in the city.
Officers discovered DNA evidence at the crime scenes and sent the evidence to the Centre of Forensic Sciences.
The centre was able to match the DNA evidence to Lauzon.
Lauzon is now charged with five counts of break and enter, stemming from five residential break-ins reported in 2003 and 2004.
